There are four main types of painting booths, and each type has its advantages and disadvantages.

Cross-draft paint booths

With a cross flow paint booth, air is flowed directly through the object or vehicle to be painted. This type of paint stand is the most popular because it is the cheapest way to find codes for people who paint in their shop.

Semi-downdraft paint booths

A semi painting booth works similar to a cross flow booth where exhaust gas still occurs at the back of the work area. However, air enters the cabin through a small portion of the ceiling in front of the cabin.

Side-draft paint booths

In cubicles for painting with side air, air is introduced through the ceiling and exhausted through the side walls. All or most of the ceiling will be screened.

Downdraft paint booths

Downdraft paint booths have airflow drawn straight from the ceiling. These cabins may require concrete pits or can be installed in a steel basement with drive rails.
